Ubisoft has announced the 1.1.4 update for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, available since October 28th at 15:00 in Spain (08:00 in Mexico City). This is one of the most ambitious patches since its release, with new challenges, improved movement features, and exclusive rewards. The download size varies between 3.4 and 9.9 GB, depending on the platform.
Patch Size:
-
Xbox Series X|S: 9.97 GB
-
PC: 9.4 GB
-
Steam: 4.7 GB
-
PS5: 3.44 GB
-
Mac: 9 GB
Among the main new features are the corrupted castles, a new type of mission set in fortresses infested with Animus anomalies. Additionally, the update introduces the “Advanced Parkour” mode, with total freedom of movement and new abilities to climb, jump, and perform extreme stunts on the rooftops of Japan.
Corrupted Castles and Advanced Parkour: The Big New Features of the Patch
The Corrupted Castles allow players to revisit already conquered fortresses, now altered by the corruption of the Animus. Players must eliminate corrupted samurai and enemies with unpredictable patterns to unlock special chests with equipment and gold. From level 30 onwards, up to five castles can appear each season, offering new challenges and rewards.
-
Corrupted Castles: fortresses “contaminated” by Animus anomalies that allow for more aggressive enemy combat.
-
Exclusive Rewards: chests with legendary equipment and gold after clearing each castle.
-
Advanced Parkour: option that eliminates jump limitations and allows for lateral or rear ejections from any height.
-
Directional Grip on Ledges: prevents falls by pressing “Parkour Up” near an edge.
-
Manual Jumps from Non-Static Objects: expands movement possibilities on rooftops and structures.
On the other hand, the Advanced Parkour system adds an option to eliminate jump restrictions, allowing for side and back ejections from any height. It also incorporates directional grip on ledges, manual jumps from non-static objects, and controlled diagonal falls, giving a sense of fluidity and control never seen before in the series.
New Golden Weapons and Massive Corrections
The 1.1.4 update also includes new golden weapons that can be obtained by completing specific challenges, such as meditation exercises, horse training, or reaching character level 100. Among them are the Tantō, Kusarigama, and Naginata, all with visual and statistical improvements.
Additionally, Ubisoft has implemented hundreds of corrections that cover everything from missions and animations to game performance. Issues with mount audio, NPC appearance, and visual bugs like floating shadows or textures have been resolved. The experience gained in Animus anomalies has also been doubled, and the cost of gold in itinerant vendors has been reduced by half.
-
Tantō: complete all Sumi-e challenges.
-
Golden Bow: dominate all horseback riding tests.
-
Kusarigama: overcome meditation exercises.
-
Naginata: finish all Kata.
-
Kanabō: reach level 100.
-
Teppō: upgrade the hideout to level 13.
A Step Further in Perfecting Shadows
The studio has confirmed that this update is part of the fall content plan, which will continue to expand the game’s world with new events, challenges, and community features. With Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft wants to maintain a similar update pace to Valhalla, but with a more technical and refined focus.
-
100% increase in XP gained in Animus anomalies.
-
50% reduction in gold price in itinerant vendors.
-
Correction of visual errors, collisions, animations, and bugs in main missions.
-
Improved stability in critical missions like Snake in the Shrine or The Final Assault.
-
Adjustments to lighting, shadows, and floating textures.
With patch 1.1.4, Assassin’s Creed Shadows continues to refine its formula and offers more reasons to get lost in feudal Japan.
