Tomorrow arrives the most ambitious update of the game. The new content expands both the story and the playable possibilities, and it does so without additional cost. For those who have been exploring Baghdad for months, this update represents a notable leap in variety, rhythm, and control options.
The patch can be downloaded on Xbox Series from the early afternoon. If it doesn’t appear automatically, it will be enough to force the update from the console itself.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage: this is the huge Valley of Memory update with story, region, and gameplay improvements
The update adds a new story of over six hours, presented as a parallel arc to the end of the base game. Basim receives key information and travels to AlUla, a lost area in time that combines monumental ruins, deep valleys, and oases full of life. The area is divided into two clearly differentiated regions:
-
Land of the Dead: an arid, labyrinthine zone marked by tombs, narrow canals, and hidden passages.
-
Land of the Living: a more vibrant territory, with villages, improvised markets, and spaces designed for vertical parkour.
Both parts are full of secrets, new activities, and specific rewards, with a more open design than Baghdad.
New playable features and activities
This update is not limited to adding story: it introduces completely new objectives that complement Basim’s journey.
-
Stolen Goods: secret maps stolen by local bands. They allow locating rare objects and unique resources that do not appear in the base game.
-
Oud Melodies: parkour sequences in motion inspired by the musical fragments of Black Flag. By completing them, melodies are unlocked that Basim can interpret in different points of the map.
-
World events and additional contracts: small stories and commissions that expand the life of AlUla and offer alternative routes to obtain rewards.
Parkour, control, and movement freedom improvements
The patch also incorporates profound changes in mobility, facilitating more fluid and precise movement:
-
Free Jump: Basim can jump manually at any time. This opens up new routes and allows for better reaction in chases or escapes.
-
Side & Back Ejects “free”: it is now possible to push Basim laterally or backward even if there is no clear surface to fall on. The player can choose between the current mode (“Safe”) or the new “Free” mode.
-
New modern control preset: designed so that the new movements fit naturally and with less stiffness than in the initial system.
Replayable missions with challenges and rewards
One of the community’s most frequent requests is finally fulfilled:
-
Main missions and contracts can now be replayed from the Animus Sequences panel.
-
Each repetition includes additional challenges, with exclusive rewards such as Animus Mods, which automatically fill tools and the Assassin Focus bar during these sequences or in a New Game+.
New difficulties and extended progression system
The update adds two new ways to experience combat:
-
Hardened Assassin: more resistant enemies but without altering the overall balance.
-
Ultimate Assassin: the most demanding difficulty in the entire game, designed for veteran players.
Both difficulties offer an exclusive cosmetic reward if completed in permadeath mode.
Tools also gain depth with level 3, which introduces completely new effects:
-
Throwing knives: are now explosive.
-
Smoke bomb: becomes a corrosive charge that eliminates bodies without leaving a trace.
-
Blowpipe: penetrates heavy armor.
-
Noisemaker: puts enemies caught in its expanding wave to sleep.
-
Traps: cause frenzy and make guards attack each other.
General adjustments in combat, AI, and progression
The patch incorporates a long list of global improvements that apply to both AlUla and Baghdad:
-
Faster animations when performing parries and counterattacks.
-
Improved dodge windows against advanced enemies.
-
Lighter hits with new visual effects.
-
Notoriety system adjusted for the new difficulties.
-
Exclusive objects that can only be obtained by stealing in specific areas of AlUla.
-
More clear flinch animations in enemies, making it easier to read each confrontation.
The download on Xbox Series takes up around 32.39 GB, so it’s a good idea to prepare space before its arrival tomorrow: 15:00 in Spain and 08:00 in Mexico City.
