Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag is one of the most memorable games in the series, but its supposed remake, which has yet to be officially announced by Ubisoft, is once again making waves in the rumor mill. This time, the leaks suggest that the remake won’t just be a graphical overhaul, but a deep reworking of its gameplay.
The information comes from the YouTube channel Jeux Vidéo Magazine, which claims that the remake will ditch the present-day sections and focus solely on the pirate era, incorporating new, unseen phases into the story. But the most exciting part is that the game will allegedly adopt a much stronger RPG focus, following in the footsteps of recent entries like Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
A Black Flag with Origins and Valhalla DNA?
According to this rumor, Ubisoft is working on a system that would completely change the game’s progression, moving away from the original 2013 design to incorporate elements of customization, equipment levels, and a style closer to action RPGs. This could transform how we explore the Caribbean, how we fight on land and sea, and even how we interact with secondary characters.
Release
As for the release, the source mentions a possible window for early 2026, although it also acknowledges that it could be delayed. What seems clear, however, is that if the leak is true, the official announcement shouldn’t be too far off.
For now, it’s worth remembering that none of this is confirmed and should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the mere idea of a reimagined Black Flag with modern mechanics is enough to excite and possibly divide the Assassin’s Creed fan community.
