The universe of ARK: Survival Ascended continues to grow, and it does so with one of its most spectacular expansions to date. Ragnarok Ascended is now available for free from the Xbox Store as additional content, and it comes packed with new features for players looking for new challenges, impressive creatures, and a unique atmosphere inspired by Norse mythology.

This new DLC is part of the updated roadmap for ARK: Survival Ascended, and it lands with a completely redesigned world that combines familiar elements with unexplored zones. The best part is that it’s free: it’s available without additional cost, although it does require the base game to be purchased beforehand, as it’s not a standalone title.

Ragnarok Ascended free on Xbox: massive map, creatures, and extreme zones

ARK: Ragnarok Ascended takes the action to a colossal map of 144 square kilometers, combining elements of The Island and Scorched Earth with exclusive biomes and a more extreme atmosphere. Players can explore from Scottish hills and frozen lakes to swampy areas shrouded in mist, active volcanoes, and caves with sparkling crystals that seem to come from a fable.

Among the most striking areas is the Dragon’s Reach, a massive stone arch that has been scorched by time and fire, serving as an entrance to an ancestral world. There are also ruins filled with secrets, hidden dungeons, hot springs, and habitats where polar bears, ice wyverns, and other wild creatures coexist, never seen before.

This additional content maintains the technical focus of ARK: Survival Ascended, based on Unreal Engine 5, with dynamic lighting, improved visuals, and more realistic physics. The expansion takes advantage of all the recent improvements to the engine and integrates with online multiplayer and existing cooperative modes.
