The possibility of an Xbox Elite Series 3 is back on the table. In a recent interview with Japanese media outlet Game Watch, Sarah Bond, Xbox president, was asked about a potential successor to the current Elite Series 2. Although she avoided giving a direct confirmation, her words suggest that the team is working on new accessories.
When asked if there were any updates on a hypothetical new Elite controller model, Bond replied: “I don’t have anything to say right now (laughs). However, we’re also innovating in accessories. We should be sharing more information soon”.
Awaiting the Xbox Elite Series 3
Although it’s not an official confirmation, the statement suggests that Xbox hardware will continue to expand into the accessory territory, which could include the arrival of an Elite Series 3 or other new controller innovations.
- The Elite Series 2 is still considered the most complete and customizable Xbox controller, with interchangeable sticks, adjustable triggers, and improved autonomy. After several years on the market, it wouldn’t be surprising if Microsoft seeks to update the line to keep it as a benchmark in the industry.
For now, it’s a matter of waiting for Xbox to share those promised announcements, although Elite controller fans already have reasons to be excited about what’s to come in the next few months.
