Embark Studios has finally announced when their highly anticipated winter update will arrive, and the surprise is that it will come much sooner than the community imagined. A move that will catch many players off guard, still preparing their arsenals.

The studio confirmed it through the game’s official social media channels, making it clear that the end of the year will have a chilly touch. Far from waiting for the start of the Expedition on December 22nd, the update that has been on everyone’s lips for weeks will land earlier, allowing players to try out new content without having to wait for the optional progress reset.

Cold Snap arrives on December 16th: snowy maps, temporary event, and new arsenal

The date is now official: Cold Snap will be available on December 16th, 2025. This update will introduce a temporary event centered around snowy versions of several game maps, an environment that completely changes the pace and usual routes of the extraction shooter.

In addition to the winter atmosphere, everything suggests that the update will include a new arsenal, along with additional weapons and possibly new enemies that will add variety to future matches.
