Winter has arrived in ARC Raiders with Cold Snap, an update that not only changes the look of the maps, but also the way to survive in them. Embark Studios has already confirmed all the key details: exact date, new temporary mode, special event, and rewards that can be obtained during the next few weeks.

The update will be available on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, with a global rollout starting at 4:30 PM (Spanish mainland time). It will be mandatory to download the patch to access the servers and new content.

ARC Raiders Cold Snap: everything included in the winter update

The main attraction of Cold Snap is its limited-time special mode, which transforms the map with a total snowfall. The winter expeditions introduce extreme temperatures, reducing visibility and adding the real risk of freezing. You’ll not only have to watch out for other Raiders and ARC, but also the cold.

This mode will affect all maps except Stella Montis, allowing you to explore snow-covered versions of The Dam, The Buried City, The Stellar Port, and The Blue Rift.

Along with this, the temporary event Flickering Flames arrives, active from launch until January 13, 2026. During this period, you can earn praise, cosmetic rewards, and premium currency, including at least one free aspect. The event also introduces a new mechanic related to candles, with new crafting plans.

• For the first time since the game’s release, Embark adds a new Arsenal, a completely free permanent pass. Using Merits, players can unlock rewards like the striking Goalie aspect, recognizable by its hockey mask seen in the official trailer.

• In terms of cosmetics, Cold Snap will include at least three aspects. Goalie is confirmed as free, while others like Misthorn do not yet have a detailed method of obtaining, so they may arrive through the event or store.
