Following the usual holiday break, the ARC Raiders team has prepared its first major patch of 2026. Although a detailed roadmap has not been released yet, the developers have started to announce significant changes that will arrive this week, directly affecting the game’s balance.
One of the most discussed adjustments by the community concerns a type of grenade that has become the absolute star over the past few weeks. Its ease of use and massive impact in combat have sparked constant debate among players, especially in PvP matches.
ARC Raiders Prepares a Nerf for Trigger Grenades
According to Embark Studios, via their official Discord channel, the patch scheduled for Tuesday, January 6, 2026, will include significant changes to the so-called trigger grenades. This explosive, similar to C4, can be thrown over long distances and detonated immediately, making it a quick and extremely effective solution against both players and AI-controlled enemies.
- The problem is not just its power, but also its accessibility: once the blueprint is obtained, its manufacture is straightforward, resulting in many encounters being resolved almost exclusively with explosives. To curb this situation, the studio has confirmed that it will apply a nerf, and rumors suggest a more profound change than expected.
- Everything indicates that the grenade might stop being thrown and instead be placed directly on the ground, limiting its immediate offensive use without reducing damage. If this adjustment is confirmed, the pace of combat would change significantly, forcing players to rethink their strategies.
In addition, the patch may also include adjustments for the Flock, a semi-automatic weapon whose firing rate is being exploited through macros. The goal would be to impose a similar limit to that of other weapons to prevent abuse and ensure fairer conditions in matches.
