With the release of GTA 6 expected in May 2026, million-dollar estimates about its commercial impact are already circulating. The most striking one so far comes from Konvoy Ventures, a video game specialist firm, which claims that the game will generate $7.6 billion in the first 60 days. The figure has sparked debate among analysts… and for good reason.

At Generación Xbox, we already warned that some projections were excessively optimistic. Now, experts like Daniel Ahmad (Niko Partners) are joining the criticism. According to his calculations, that revenue would imply that around 65% of Xbox Series and PS5 users would buy the game in just two months, an unprecedented proportion in the industry.

What would justify these figures? A personalized content platform

The key, according to Konvoy, lies in user-generated content. Previous reports suggest that Rockstar might include a UGC (user-generated content) system in GTA 6 itself, similar to Roblox or Fortnite. There are even rumors that the studio has already contacted creators from those platforms to integrate personalized experiences within the open world of Vice City.

This model would allow users to sell their own creations within the game, while Rockstar would receive a percentage. If this functionality is confirmed, the title could also become a commercial platform for creators, which would completely change its economic scale.

Still, the figures continue to raise doubts. GTA 5 sold 32.5 million copies in its first three months in 2013, with a much larger console base. Repeating that phenomenon – and surpassing it widely – in just 60 days would be a historic feat. For now, the only certainty is that GTA 6 will arrive in May 2026, and its impact will be huge… although perhaps not as massive as some predict.
