While many players continue to dream of a sequel to Bully, something that former Rockstar developers see as unlikely, a group of fans has decided to take the initiative and give new life to the 2006 classic with a totally unexpected project: Bully Online.
This project, presented with a trailer in recent hours, aims to adapt the original title to make it playable online, without altering its technical aspect or essence. Instead of focusing on graphics or performance, the goal is to offer a cooperative and competitive multiplayer experience, allowing players to explore the school and city together.
Bully Online: the unexpected return of Rockstar’s classic
According to its creators, Bully Online will include shared mini-games, vehicle races, and player-versus-player combat, as well as social activities within the game environment. The project, still in development, is expected to open its early access in December, although it will only be available to those who financially support the initiative through crowdfunding campaigns.
This detail has raised doubts about its future. Given that Rockstar Games retains the brand rights, it would not be surprising if the company’s legal team intervenes to stop the project once it gains visibility. Nevertheless, the community’s interest demonstrates that Bully remains one of the studio’s most beloved works, and the desire to revive it, even if unofficially, is more alive than ever.
