Although the focus of the conversation was on PlayStation 6, the new video released by Sony and AMD leaves an important message: the innovations that both companies are developing will not be exclusive to one platform, but will also arrive on Xbox and PC.
During the talk, centered on “the future of gaming”, the progress of the Amethyst Project was addressed, an AMD initiative that integrates artificial intelligence scaling, improved ray tracing, and advanced compression. These technologies, according to engineers, will mark a significant generational leap in the coming years.
Mark Cerny, PlayStation’s lead architect, confirmed that part of these improvements (such as the so-called Universal Compression) will allow for greater visual fidelity and lower energy consumption, announcing that Sony plans to incorporate the technology into its next console “in a few years”.

Microsoft maintains its own collaboration with AMD for the next Xbox, whose development (according to recent leaks) is progressing at a good pace under the codename “Magnus”. Both companies share similar goals: enhancing energy efficiency, graphics performance, and integration between console and PC.
Everything points to the fact that PS6 and the new Xbox will be born on the same technological base, driven by AMD’s advances in AI and GPU. The future of hardware, once again, seems more connected than ever.
