The list of licenses for EA Sports FC 26 has already started circulating, and although the game still has a solid coverage, there are some notable absences that have not gone unnoticed. Several leagues, stadiums, and renowned clubs will not be present with their official names in the new EA title due to exclusive agreements with the competition.

As has been happening for several installments, Konami maintains exclusive rights to teams like FC Barcelona, Arsenal, or Manchester United, forcing EA to modify their names, shields, and stadiums. And this year, the situation expands with new absences that also affect several key locations in international football.

A notable novelty: the Diego Armando Maradona
On the positive side, EA Sports FC 26 will include for the first time the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium in Naples, thanks to an exclusive four-year agreement between EA and the city council of the Italian city. A nod that will delight fans of Napoli and historical football in general.
Although the absence of these licenses may be annoying for some players, EA has strengthened other areas of the game: new competitive preset in Ultimate Team and Clubs, more realistic gameplay in Career mode, dynamic events, player archetypes, and a revamped Manager Live system that adapts to the current state of football.
The game still features over 20,000 real footballers and more than 300 official licenses, making it one of the most complete football titles on the market. And, as always, we’ll have to be on the lookout for possible last-minute changes or agreements before the release.
