The sequel to Aliens: Fireteam Elite seems closer than many thought. The title, not officially announced yet, has been rated by the ESRB, the US organization responsible for age rating content, which practically confirms its existence.
The registration identifies the game as “Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2”, with Daybreak Game Company as the publisher, and points to a multi-platform release for Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC. The rating given is for “Adults”, an indication that anticipates the presence of intense violence, blood, and strong language, in line with the tone of the saga.
Daybreak takes the reins in a darker sequel
The first Aliens: Fireteam Elite, released in 2021, was developed by Cold Iron Studios and distributed by Focus Entertainment. This time, Daybreak Game Company (owner of Dimensional Ink and developer of titles like DC Universe Online) will be in charge of taking the franchise to its next stage.
- The ESRB rating suggests that the official announcement could happen in the coming weeks, possibly accompanied by a first trailer or preview during a digital event. Although there are no details about gameplay or setting, it is expected that this second part will maintain its cooperative third-person structure, with new environments, xenomorph creatures, and a more cinematic focus.
For now, neither Daybreak nor Cold Iron have made any statements about it, but the appearance in official records makes it clear that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is real and its arrival on Xbox Series could happen sooner than we imagine.
