The level of demand of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 continues to leave behind unbelievable stories. In recent hours, a player’s feat has gone viral, needing over eight hours straight to defeat one of the new bosses introduced after the Thank You update, in a battle that borders on the extreme even by the game’s standards.
The protagonist is user Recordbreaks, who shared his experience on Reddit accompanied by a screenshot that summarizes the craziness of the confrontation: 8 hours and 2 minutes of combat, over 10,500 stops executed, and zero dodges. The enemy in question was Duollistes, one of the toughest bosses recently added, designed for very advanced players… something this user decided to completely ignore.
Low level, limited damage, and pure perseverance
According to the player himself, he faced the battle with a team still below the recommended level, with Verso not developed enough to inflict large amounts of damage. Each hit barely reached 200,000 points, and only when the Roulette played in his favor, something that happened with little frequency.
Far from giving up and coming back later, Recordbreaks opted for a strategy based almost exclusively on defensive precision, betting everything on perfect stops. The fact is as exaggerated as it is revealing: over 22 stops per minute for hours, without resorting to dodging even once.
A challenge within reach of very few
Throughout the entire battle, the player claims he only allowed himself a brief break of a few minutes to eat something before continuing. In total, the fight lasted longer than the main campaign of many complete games, becoming one of the most striking anecdotes that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has left to date.
A further example of how this RPG not only stands out for its design and atmosphere, but also for the type of challenges it poses to those who seek to take it to the limit.
