A new leak related to Project Helix, the next generation of Xbox, is generating buzz in the community. Several screenshots published online appear to show part of the Xbox Helix developer portal, revealing details about the operating system, hardware, and some features that the platform could offer.

For now, there is no official confirmation from Microsoft, so all the information should be taken with caution. The images allegedly appeared on internet forums and supposedly show documentation intended for developers working with the new Helix development environment.
The Xbox Helix leak points to a hybrid system between console and PC
According to the shared screenshots, Xbox Helix would use a system called Helix OS, designed to switch between two different environments:
-
Game Mode, which would work like the traditional Xbox console environment.
-
Windows Mode, which would allow using the system like a Windows PC.
Among the technical details that appear in the alleged documentation, several interesting points stand out:
-
At least 32 GB of unified memory in the system.
-
Compatibility with Xbox controllers and USB peripherals in both modes.
-
Possibility of linking Steam and Epic Games Store accounts from the main panel.
-
Games from those platforms could appear directly in the Game Mode library.
-
Purchases on Steam or Epic Games Store would be made from Windows Mode.
-
Xbox achievements compatible with Steam and Epic games, if developers enable them.
-
Mods available only in Windows Mode.
-
Quick Resume would work with Xbox games, but may not work with Steam or Epic titles.
The leak also mentions different operating system options within the development portal:
-
Windows 11 Home
-
Windows 11 Professional
-
Windows 11 Helix (recommended)
Additionally, the development SDK appears to be listed as Helix SDK version 0.1.4, suggesting that the platform is still in an early stage of development.
For now, there is no official confirmation about these details, but the concept coincides with what Microsoft has recently hinted at: a Xbox capable of combining the console environment with PC-like features, something that would fit with the company’s strategy to expand the Xbox ecosystem to multiple devices.
