Rarely does a fan-made project receive direct support from the intellectual property owners. However, that’s exactly what has happened with Spartan Survivors, a game inspired by the Halo universe that combines action roguelite and bullet heaven style, and which can now officially arrive on Xbox and Steam after receiving the green light from Microsoft and Halo Studios.
According to the development team’s announcement on social media, both companies have not only formally approved the project but have also collaborated to ensure the game meets all regulations, following Microsoft’s well-known “Game Content Usage Rules”. The developers have publicly thanked this support, highlighting the respect and sympathy shown by the saga’s leaders.
Spartan Survivors: Non-Stop Action in the Halo Universe
The game is already available in its preliminary version, but its full release on Xbox consoles is scheduled for November. In it, players will face endless waves of classic enemies like the Covenant and the Flood, all with gameplay inspired directly by titles like Vampire Survivors.
Here are some of its features:
-
Set in the Halo universe, with sprites and enemies inspired by the franchise.
-
Intense bullet heaven-style combat, with progressive upgrades and increasingly difficult waves.
-
Roguelite system, with unlockable weapons, abilities, and characters throughout each session.
-
Fully compatible with Microsoft’s content usage rules, allowing for legal publication on consoles and PC.
