The opening of GTA 6 reservations has left a question in the air among millions of players: when will Rockstar Games show the long-awaited Trailer 3? Many expected both announcements to arrive at the same time, but the studio has once again proven that it follows its own calendar and maintains secrecy until the very last moment.
Although there is no official confirmation, looking back allows us to find a pattern that could repeat itself with the most anticipated release of 2026.
Previous Rockstar games offer a clue
If we analyze the promotional campaigns of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2, we find a common detail: Rockstar showed the first official gameplay approximately two and a half months before the release. In both cases, the studio waited until the final stretch to show how the game was really played:
- GTA V: gameplay published on July 9, 2013 and released on September 17 (70 days later).
- Red Dead Redemption 2: gameplay published on August 9, 2018 and released on October 26 (78 days later).
Taking into account that GTA 6 will arrive on November 19, 2026, that pattern would place a possible gameplay-focused video between late August and early September.
However, there is another possibility. Rockstar could release a third cinematic trailer this month and reserve a video completely dedicated to gameplay for a few weeks later, following a strategy similar to the one used with their previous big productions.
As always happens with Rockstar Games, everything is speculation until the company makes an official announcement. However, if they maintain a similar strategy to their biggest successes, the wait to see GTA 6 again could be much closer to ending.
