After months of rumors and leaks, Valve has finally set a release date and price for the new Steam Machine. The brand’s return to the desktop format will take place at the end of June, and although the specs are ambitious, the entry price won’t be exactly low.
The new machine, conceived as a compact PC with SteamOS, will be officially available starting June 30th and will also hit the Spanish market with several configurations focused on storage capacity and the inclusion of the new Steam Controller.
The Steam Machine will arrive in Spain with four models and a price over 1,000 euros
Valve has confirmed that the most affordable model will start at 1,039 euros and will include 512 GB of SSD storage, but without a controller. Above that, we’ll find three additional configurations:
- Steam Machine 512 GB without Steam Controller — 1,039 €
- Steam Machine 512 GB with Steam Controller — 1,108 €
- Steam Machine 2 TB without Steam Controller — 1,359 €
- Steam Machine 2 TB with Steam Controller — 1,428 €
Beyond storage, all models will share the same hardware. The new Steam Machine features a custom AMD Zen 4 processor with 6 cores and 12 threads, a GPU based on RDNA 3 with 28 compute units, 16 GB of DDR5 memory, 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, Wi-Fi 6E connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, Gigabit Ethernet, and SteamOS 3 as the operating system.
Its design maintains very compact dimensions, with a chassis of around 15 centimeters, and also features a microSD card slot and an integrated wireless adapter for the Steam Controller.
With these specs, Valve is directly targeting the premium compact PC segment. Now it remains to be seen how the market responds to a device that arrives with an ambitious proposal, but also with a price that puts it above many consoles and traditional gaming PCs.
