Since its presentation at the Showcase, one of the aspects that has sparked the most curiosity among Ninja Theory fans has been the duration of Senua. After the more contained experiences offered by the previous Hellblade games, many players wondered if the new project would opt for a larger-scale adventure.
Now, the studio has wanted to respond directly to that question with a message posted on their social media, where they reveal some details about the game’s size.
Senua will be longer than the previous Hellblade games
Ninja Theory explains that development is still underway and that they still can’t provide an exact number of hours, but they do confirm that the goal is to create a considerably more extensive experience than the previous games in the series.
According to the studio:
Senua is still in development, so we don’t have an exact figure yet, but we’re designing it to be quite a bit longer than the previous Hellblade games.
The team also highlights that the project aims to become a much broader and fully developed action adventure, without losing the essence that has characterized the series since its inception.
Ninja Theory insists that the growth in scale won’t mean giving up on a carefully crafted experience, with a deliberate pace and a story centered on the protagonist. The goal is to offer a more ambitious journey, while maintaining focus on the narrative and the development of Senua’s character.
Although there is no official duration yet, these statements make it clear that the studio wants to take a step forward compared to the previous installments and turn Senua into their largest production to date. For fans of the series, this is one of the first concrete hints about the scope of the highly anticipated Xbox exclusive.
