Xbox Game Pass has just added an unexpected new addition to its catalog, and this time it’s a rather different proposal from the usual fare on the service. Without prior warning (two games were announced for today), Microsoft has added a new game for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC Game Pass subscribers.

The game is now available for download on Xbox Series and PC, and can also be played directly from the cloud, further expanding a catalog that continues to grow almost every week in 2026.

Escape the Backrooms is now available on Xbox Game Pass

Escape the Backrooms is a cooperative horror and exploration experience that allows 1-4 players to play together as they try to survive in the unsettling environments inspired by the viral phenomenon of the “Backrooms”.
