Forza Horizon 6 has just kicked off its early access and is already leaving mind-blowing numbers in its wake. The new game from Playground Games has started with tremendous force on Steam, and everything points to this being the biggest launch the Horizon saga has ever seen.
And that’s with several days still to go before the official release of the standard edition.
Forza Horizon 6 already surpasses 135,000 simultaneous players on Steam
According to the first figures shared, it has become the largest launch in the franchise’s history on the Valve platform, with simultaneous players on Steam.
- What’s most striking is that currently, only those who purchased the Premium edition or the Premium Upgrade Bundle along with Xbox Game Pass can access it.
The magnitude of the launch is also being seen within the game itself. Nearly 500,000 players have already completed the first PR challenge available on the map, a huge number considering that early access has only just begun.
Part of the success seems to be related to several key factors:
- Setting in Japan
- Great performance on Xbox and PC
- Steam Deck compatibility
- Cross-save between platforms
- A huge amount of interest built up over the years
Additionally, over the past few days, Playground Games has also been revealing new cars, seasonal rewards, and technical improvements that have helped further fuel interest in the game.
Now, it remains to be seen how far the counter can go when the general release takes place on May 19th, when millions of Xbox Game Pass players will be able to officially enter the new Horizon Festival.
