Gears of War: E-Day is accumulating signals that point to a release closer than expected. While many players are waiting for new images during the next Xbox Games Showcase, a curious promotional move related to professional wrestling has begun to spark theories about its release date.
Everything comes after confirming an official collaboration between Xbox, The Coalition, and the Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide event Triplemanía, which will also feature WWE participation in September.
The promotion of Gears of War: E-Day will begin in September
According to the announcement, Gears of War: E-Day will be the official sponsor of several special matches to be held on September 11 and 13 in Mexico City and another location that has not been revealed yet.
The community has quickly begun to interpret this move as a possible hint about the game’s release window. Many players believe that Microsoft would not start such a visible promotional campaign if the release were still too far away.
Additionally, there’s another important detail that’s fueling the theories: Grand Theft Auto VI is still scheduled for November 2026, and it would be unusual for Xbox to release Gears of War: E-Day too close to the massive launch of Rockstar’s game. Therefore, more and more players believe that the return of Marcus Fenix could happen between late September and early October, leaving enough room before the arrival of GTA 6.
For now, Microsoft has not officially confirmed the final release date, but it’s clear that the promotional machine around Gears of War: E-Day is starting to gain momentum.
