Directive 8020 has already shared its official PC requirements and, looking at the recommended specifications, it’s clear that the new title from Supermassive Games will offer a visually ambitious experience. The game will arrive on May 12th, and the studio has taken advantage of these last hours before launch to confirm what hardware will be necessary.
The new installment in the anthology horror series maintains the studio’s cinematic focus, but this time with more demanding technical requirements than previous The Dark Pictures games. Although the minimum requirements are still relatively accessible, the recommended specs point to quite powerful equipment to play with guarantees.
PC Requirements for Directive 8020: Mandatory SSD and Recommended RTX 3070 Ti
Minimum Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 10/11 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3500
- RAM: 16 GB
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 / AMD Radeon RX 5700
- Storage: 40 GB free
- Mandatory SSD
Recommended Requirements
- Operating System: Windows 10/11 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5-12400F / AMD Ryzen 5 5600X
- RAM: 16 GB
- Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti / AMD Radeon RX 6800
- Storage: 40 GB free
- Mandatory SSD
The graphical requirements seem especially focused on lighting and cinematic effects, which is logical given the game’s visual style. However, the installation size remains relatively contained at just 40 GB, far from other recent releases that are much heavier in terms of storage.
For many PC players, the most important point will be the recommended GPU. An RTX 3070 Ti or an RX 6800 make it clear that Directive 8020 is aiming for mid-to-high-end configurations to enjoy high-quality graphics and good performance.
