Microsoft has already deployed a new major update for Xbox, and it’s packed with features that go beyond minor tweaks. The April 15 update introduces improvements in customization, performance, and control that directly impact players’ daily experience.
This isn’t one of those silent updates. In this case, we’re talking about a patch with visible changes from the get-go, especially in the interface and functions that have been begging for improvements.
The April Xbox update introduces improvements in interface, Quick Resume, and cloud gaming
One of the most striking changes comes in profile customization. From now on, players can choose from more customized colors, better adjusting the visual style of their account. Additionally, the option to apply these colors as an effect on the system guide is added, allowing for a more personal touch on the interface.
- Another significant improvement is on the home screen. Xbox now allows anchoring up to 10 groups on the Home screen, when before the limit was much more restricted. This makes it easier to organize games, apps, or collections in a much clearer way. Up to 10 individual games can also be added directly to the main screen.
But if there’s a feature that many users will appreciate, it’s the new Quick Resume management. From this update on, it’s possible to disable Quick Resume on specific games, which is very useful for titles that don’t work well with this feature or require a stable connection from scratch. The process is simple and is done from the game’s menu.
- In the technical department, there are also interesting new features related to cloud gaming. The option to manually select the resolution before starting to play is added, allowing for an experience adjustment according to the connection. Along with this, a real-time network quality indicator appears, offering more information about performance during the game.
Additionally, a new history tab is incorporated within “My games and apps”, facilitating quick access to recent titles without having to return to the main menu constantly.
- Another very useful detail is the new cloud saving indicator. From now on, each game will show if the data is correctly synchronized, if there’s any problem, or if the progress is pending upload. This provides more peace of mind when switching devices or closing a game.
Overall, this update demonstrates that Xbox continues to fine-tune its operating system with practical and user-focused changes. These aren’t just visual additions, but improvements that directly impact how you play and manage your console every day.
