The highly anticipated return of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in the form of a remake could be closer than it seems. New information suggests that Ubisoft plans to officially announce the project next week, with a specific date already set.
According to several sources, the remake (internally known as “Resynced”) is expected to be unveiled on April 16th, a date that has been circulating in the rumor mill for some time.

The information was initially shared on forums like ResetEra and later corroborated by Insider Gaming, which had also mentioned a mid-April announcement window in the past. This reinforces the idea that the announcement is already in the works.
- In terms of release, internal documents point to a window within the current fiscal year, specifically between June and August 2026, although some sources mention July. However, as is often the case with Ubisoft, these dates are subject to change.
This remake is expected to be a major part of the company’s strategy, being one of its main releases of the year alongside other projects in development.
For now, there’s no official confirmation, but all signs point to the return of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag being closer than ever. If the deadlines are met, we might finally get our answers next week and see what this new version of one of the most beloved titles in the series looks like.
