Bungie has released the first major patch for Marathon after a brief server maintenance earlier this morning. The update arrives with numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments, addressing some of the most common complaints from the community since its launch.
One of the main issues reported by players was related to resource scarcity during matches, which could leave teams without ammo or medkits too quickly on certain maps.
Changes to Resources, Enemies, and Weapons in Marathon
With this new patch, Bungie has introduced several adjustments aimed at improving the overall gaming experience:
-
More health packs on the Perimeter map, one of the most used scenarios in matches.
-
Faction medkits with more ammo, to prevent players from running out of bullets shortly after starting a match.
-
Reduced health for some AI-controlled enemies, making certain encounters easier.
-
Adjustments to weapons and accessories to balance performance during combat.
-
Fixes for multiple bugs, including one that could cause instant chassis destruction in certain situations.
Bungie has stated that this update is not the main one for the season, as the studio is preparing a larger patch that will arrive in the coming weeks with additional changes.
Additionally, the team has also announced that a free update for the Marathon season pass will be released in about a month, which will add new content to the game’s reward system.
