The Steam Machine project is now a reality announced by Valve months ago, but today it’s back in the news after detecting new updates in its SteamDB file. The changes registered on March 6, 2026 affect not only the main system but also other elements like Steam Frame and Steam Controller.
This type of movement in Steam’s database usually indicates that development is still progressing, and the company is preparing the various components before its market release. Although no new official details have been revealed, the changes have been enough to put the focus back on the device.
Steam Machine, Steam Frame, and Steam Controller receive new updates on March 6
The SteamDB records show that the project associated with Steam Machine has received several modifications during March 6, including the incorporation of a release date marked as “Coming soon” within the Steam store.
Additionally, the system now appears with the status “prerelease”, confirming that the product is not yet publicly available, but its page is already set up within the platform. Among the detected changes are also new store resources, such as promotional images, Steam capsules, and other visual elements.
The update also mentions elements related to Steam Frame and Steam Controller, suggesting that Valve is still working on several components of the hardware that will accompany Steam Machine. Everything points to the company continuing to fine-tune the preparations within Steam before the device officially hits the market.
For now, no new dates or additional features have been announced, but the updates detected today in SteamDB indicate that the project is still active and progressing within Steam’s infrastructure.
