The success of Resident Evil Requiem hasn’t taken long to arrive. Capcom has confirmed that the game has already surpassed 5 million units sold worldwide, a figure achieved in just a few days since its release on February 27, 2026.

This is a strong start for the new installment in the series, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of Resident Evil, one of the most influential franchises in the survival horror genre. The game’s commercial performance reflects the enormous interest that the series continues to generate among players.

Capcom explains that the game has achieved this result thanks to the combination of intense terror and action, a formula that is once again the core of this installment. The game has been developed with the RE ENGINE engine, which allows for a very high level of detail in characters and scenarios, with visual elements such as realistic skin, wet eyes, dynamic hair, and more natural lighting effects.

In addition, the game introduces options designed for different types of players, including multiple difficulty levels and the ability to switch between first and third person camera in real-time, adapting to each player’s style.

Even before its release, the game had already generated a lot of excitement. During Gamescom 2025, the most important European event in the sector held in August last year, the game received four awards, including the Most Epic award.
