Xbox continues to expand its features in the portable ecosystem and, starting today, members of the Insider program can try out an interesting new feature on ROG Xbox Ally X. It’s called Highlight Reels, a tool that automatically generates summaries of your best gaming moments.
The feature is integrated within Game Highlights (Preview) on the game page within the Xbox app on PC. The idea is simple: capture highlight-reel plays (like defeating a boss or winning a close match) without having to leave the game or download additional apps.
Highlight Reels arrives in preview phase for Xbox Insiders
During this initial testing phase, the feature is available with a select group of titles. Confirmed games include Forza Horizon 5, Overwatch 2, Elden Ring, Fortnite, Palworld, Among Us, and Lies of P.
The system works in the background using Gaming Copilot, which detects highlight-reel moments while you play. When you finish your gaming session, it automatically generates a summary video that you can review and share directly from the Xbox app on PC.
To activate it, you need to:
-
Be enrolled in the Xbox Insider program.
-
Have background recording enabled from Game Bar or from the capture settings in Windows.
-
Play one of the compatible titles.
Microsoft encourages Insiders to send feedback through the Xbox Insider Hub app to continue improving the feature and expanding the list of compatible games.
This is an interesting step to enhance the experience on ROG Xbox Ally X, especially in a context where sharing clips and highlights is a habitual part of the community. Now, the process is much more automatic and direct.
