The interest has been so strong that even Resident Evil 4 Remake climbed back up the global best-seller list on the platform, demonstrating that the new game’s pull has benefited the entire saga.
Resident Evil Requiem sold out physical editions before launch
In parallel to its digital success, the Standard, Deluxe, and Steelbook physical editions for consoles sold out at major US retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, and GameStop in the days leading up to the launch. In some markets, only limited units were left.
With early reviews highlighting its combination of action and horror, and with optimized versions on all current platforms, Capcom hopes that this ninth main installment will surpass its predecessor’s numbers.
Now that the game is available, it remains to be seen how far it can go in terms of sales, but the launch makes it clear that Resident Evil Requiem has started strong.
