Warner Bros. Games is already looking beyond the short term and has made it clear that its biggest bets are yet to come. Although the new LEGO Batman is on the horizon, the company’s most powerful franchises have yet to officially reveal their next steps.
In a recent interview with Variety, WB Games CEO JB Perrette confirmed that the “real fruits” of the current work will begin to be seen between 2027 and 2028, when they will relaunch their most important brands. While there were no concrete announcements, the message makes it clear that the company is preparing something big for that period.
Batman and Harry Potter in the spotlight for 2027-2028
When Warner Bros. talks about its most relevant franchises, it’s hard not to think of Batman and Harry Potter. The possible new Rocksteady project set in the Dark Knight universe is still one of the most anticipated, while a sequel to Hogwarts Legacy has also been rumored for some time.
Additionally, many players speculate about the return of NetherRealm Studios with a hypothetical Injustice 3, following the recent release of Mortal Kombat 1. Although there are no official confirmations, the timeline fits with the calendar mentioned by the company.
For now, Warner Bros. has not detailed platforms or specific release dates, but the message is clear: between 2027 and 2028, its strongest licenses will return. The question that remains is which one will reappear first… and if Batman will take the lead again.
