Today, February 24, ARC Raiders is leaping into its third season with the Shrouded Sky update, a massive patch that introduces dynamic events, new enemies, and free rewards for the community. Embark Studios has detailed all the new features just hours before its release.
The update not only adds content but also modifies the way players experience the game in certain situations, forcing them to adapt to much more demanding conditions.
Shrouded Sky brings hurricanes, two new ARCs, and a free Raider Deck
The major highlight is the hurricane special condition, which can be activated in the map rotation. This weather event drastically reduces visibility and causes the wind to constantly degrade the survivors’ shields, increasing tension in each expedition.
The Battlefield of the Dam map has also been updated with new explorable areas. In the enemy department, two brand-new ARCs make their debut:
-
Firefly, a drone equipped with flamethrowers that can become a constant threat in close combat.
-
Comet, a spherical robot that patrols areas of the map and self-destructs when detecting intruders, causing area damage.
In terms of rewards, the third free Raider Deck has arrived, allowing players to unlock the Surgeon skin and new customization items like beards and accessories. Some of the content will be free, while other parts will be included in paid packages.
Additionally, a new expedition window opens, tied to the second wipe, for those who have completed the preparatory mission. With Shrouded Sky, ARC Raiders aims to revamp its offering and raise the difficulty level just as the new season begins.
