As speculation continues about the future of Starfield, Todd Howard has stepped in to clarify one of the most repeated doubts by the community: there is no “Starfield 2.0” as a completely reinvented version of the game. However, this doesn’t mean that the space RPG will become stagnant.
The director of Bethesda Game Studios has confirmed that the team has been working on new content for some time, although it has not been officially presented yet. After a period in which other franchises from the studio have taken center stage, the focus will soon return to the ambitious space project.
Todd Howard Anticipates Big News for Starfield
In relation to Starfield, Howard explained that the studio will enter a more active communication phase very soon. According to his words, they are preparing an adequate presentation to show what’s coming, after months focused on other studio properties.
However, he wanted to temper expectations about a complete overhaul of the game. There won’t be a radical transformation in the style of “2.0”, but rather updates that will change important elements of the metagame, especially regarding the use of space and certain core systems. In his vision, these changes will thrill those who already enjoy the RPG, although they will hardly convince those who didn’t connect with the initial proposal.
So far, the only major additional content released has been Shattered Space, and many players are eager to know what concrete plans Bethesda has to expand the game’s universe. If Howard’s words come true, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.
