Bad news for those who were expecting to play it next month on Xbox Game Pass. REPLACED, which was scheduled to launch in March within the service, has officially announced a delay and already has a new date marked on the calendar.
The development team has confirmed that the release is moving to April 14, 2026, ensuring that they need a few extra weeks to polish the final experience. Although the game would be technically finished, the studio wants the launch version to be fully optimized and stable from day one.
REPLACED will no longer arrive in March on Xbox Game Pass
REPLACED, developed by Sad Cat Studios and published by Thunderful, has become one of the most anticipated indies within the Xbox catalog thanks to its cinematic pixel art aesthetic and dystopian setting.
In the statement, the studio explains that the final stretch of development has led them to detect aspects that need an extra adjustment before launch. The good news is that the delay is relatively short and that the game is still very close to crossing the finish line.
For those who want to try it out before the official launch, the demo is still available on Steam. Meanwhile, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy it on console and PC.
