New opportunity to try one of the most ambitious (and debated) PC games. Star Citizen will be playable for free for a limited time, allowing any user to access its persistent universe without needing to purchase an initial package.
The free period comes with recent content, significant technical improvements, and new playable systems, making it a great time to check the current state of the project.
Star Citizen will be free from February 12th to 23rd on PC
According to Roberts Space Industries, Star Citizen will be free to play from February 12th to 23rd on PC as part of the Coramor festival, an event that celebrates cooperation and community play within the game’s universe.
- During these days, any player can create an account and access the game for free, testing its flight, combat, mission, and space exploration systems. Access is direct from the studio’s official website, without going through Steam or other digital stores.
The free trial comes at an important time for development, following the release of Alpha 4.5 and Alpha 4.6, which have introduced new features such as ship engineering and energy management systems, performance improvements thanks to Vulkan and DLSS, new vehicles like the RSI Meteor and the RSI Hermes, as well as specific missions and features like night vision in the cockpit.
From Cloud Imperium Games, they recommend having an SSD, 16 GB of RAM, and a graphics card compatible with DirectX 11 for a smooth experience. Although it’s still in alpha phase, this free period allows you to check the current state of the project firsthand and decide if it’s worth exploring its universe in the long term.
