The Xbox catalog adds today an unusual horror proposal, one of those that enters through the premise and stays due to the constant discomfort they generate. Set in an abandoned factory, this new release bets on direct fear, continuous escape and an antagonist that turns something mundane into a real nightmare.
The experience is designed to be lived in first person and puts the player in a situation of permanent vulnerability, where hiding, running and observing the environment is as important as advancing. All this with an oppressive atmosphere and a concept that mixes the grotesque with the unexpected.
Monterey Jack premieres today on Xbox with first-person horror
Monterey Jack is now available on Xbox Series, with a version optimized for the next-generation console. In the game, we control Gordi, a high school student who ventures into the abandoned Monterey Jack Cheese Factory to find his missing friend, Mikey.
The great enemy is not just the factory, but Monterey Jack and its damned cheese sauce, capable of bringing to life dolls, mannequins, and even industrial machinery. These creatures patrol the scenarios and force the player to stay in constant motion, avoiding direct confrontations and taking advantage of the environment to survive.
The title bets on intense chases, exploration with permanent tension, and an unhealthy atmosphere that reminds us of a twisted version of a candy factory taken to hell. A different proposal within Xbox horror, ideal for those looking for something brief, direct, and with a very marked identity.
