The next big update for Cronos: The New Dawn is nearing its final stretch and will bring with it a significant change in the way players approach the game. Bloober Team has confirmed that by the end of next week, the rollout of the new Temporal Diver Mode will begin, an option designed for those who want to immerse themselves in the game’s universe without such a high level of difficulty.
However, the studio warns that the update may arrive at different times depending on the platform, due to the usual certification processes. In any case, the goal is clear: to expand the range of players without altering the game’s identity.
The new Temporal Diver mode changes the balance of combat
The main difference in Temporal Diver lies in the balance of the game. In this mode, enemy health is reduced by half, while the protagonist’s health is doubled, resulting in a more fluid and less punishing progression. This is an option designed for those who prioritize atmosphere, exploration, and world development over constant challenge.
With this update, Cronos: The New Dawn will now feature three distinct levels of difficulty.
-
Temporal Diver (new): more survival margin and less intense combat.
-
Anvil of the Collective: the game’s standard experience.
-
Forged in Fire: the most demanding mode, which is unlocked after completing the campaign on normal difficulty.
Bloober Team is even encouraging players to replay the campaign using Temporal Diver as a starting point before tackling Anvil of the Collective and, later, Forged in Fire. Additionally, the studio has reminded players that the original soundtrack is now available on Steam, accompanied by a new ambient video that reinforces the game’s tone and sonic identity. An update designed to make the game more accessible without sacrificing what defines it.
