Since its presentation, Crimson Desert has been clearly associated with Kliff, its main protagonist. However, the latest official material published by the studio has served to clarify one of the most repeated doubts by the community: yes, it will be possible to control other characters throughout the game.
The latest trailer confirms that the experience will not revolve exclusively around Kliff and that there will be, at least, two other playable warriors, each with a very differentiated combat style and their own focus within the development.
Three playable characters confirmed in Crimson Desert
To date, Pearl Abyss has confirmed three controllable characters:
-
Kliff
He is the central protagonist of the story and the character that represents the general balance of the combat system. His style seems to combine strength, resistance, and versatility, acting as a midpoint in front of the other heroes. -
Long-haired Warrior
A combatant of great physical power, capable of using heavy weapons like a large axe, as well as firearms. His focus is on direct confrontations, high damage, and space control, ideal for players who prefer a more intense pace. -
Agile Assassin
The third confirmed character stands out for his speed and mobility. He can use pistols, daggers, or even a saber, offering a much faster style, focused on combos, dodges, and chained attacks. Everything suggests that he will be the most technical of the three.
Each one will have their own weapons, animations, and combat abilities, which reinforces the playable variety and allows players to face situations from very different perspectives.
For now, Pearl Abyss has not detailed how often these characters can be controlled or if it will be possible to switch freely between them. Everything indicates that their use will be linked to specific missions or moments in the game, but we will have to wait for new updates to know how they are integrated exactly within the structure of Crimson Desert.
