The catalog of Retro Classics within Xbox Game Pass kicks off the year with exciting news for classic game enthusiasts. January 2026 brings four new retro games, a selection that combines three historic Activision titles from the 80s with a brutal adventure from the 90s by Sierra, expanding the variety of genres and eras available on the service.

This update reinforces the preservation and accessibility focus of the Retro Classics program, allowing players to rediscover works that marked the early years of home video games. All titles are now available to subscribers at no extra cost and are ready to play starting today.

The four games joining Retro Classics in January

The new batch includes very different proposals, from pure arcade action to an adventure with a strong narrative charge. These are the added titles:

• Keystone Kapers (1983, Atari 2600)
  A classic action game where the player must chase a thief through a shopping mall, avoiding obstacles and managing time with precision.

• Laser Gates (1983, Atari 2600)
  A space shooter with simple but demanding mechanics, representative of the golden age of early 80s home arcades.

• Sky Patrol (1982, Atari 2600)
  Direct and challenging aerial action, where reflexes and scoring are at the center of the experience.

• Rise of the Dragon (1991, Amiga)
  An adventure set in a dystopian future, with a strong narrative charge. The story follows an investigator who delves into the underworld of a city marked by corruption and drugs, representing the style of 90s graphic adventures.

With these additions, Xbox continues to reinforce its commitment to retro gaming within Game Pass, offering easy access to historic titles that help understand the evolution of the medium and expand the catalog’s value beyond current releases.
