Cronos: The New Dawn will continue to expand its offering in 2026 with the arrival of a new difficulty mode called Temporal Diver, an option designed for players who prefer to explore the world and advance in the story with less pressure in combat. The announcement comes directly from Bloober Team, which continues to fine-tune the experience after the game’s launch.
This new mode will be available in early 2026 on all platforms and will not alter the game’s narrative content or structure. The difference will be in the balance: enemies will have their health reduced by half, while the protagonist’s (the Traveler) health will be doubled. The result is a more fluid progression, designed for those who enjoy the universe, atmosphere, and story above pure challenge.
Here’s how all the difficulty modes in Cronos: The New Dawn will work
With this update, the game will feature three distinct difficulty levels, each tailored to a specific type of player:
-
Temporal Diver (new): increased player health and less resistant enemies. Ideal for a more exploration-focused and story-driven experience.
-
Anvil of the Collective: standard difficulty, designed as the base survival horror experience.
-
Forged in Fire: the most demanding mode, which is unlocked after completing the game on standard difficulty and is aimed at those seeking the ultimate challenge.
Bloober Team is even encouraging players to replay the campaign: completing the Temporal Diver mode can be a great introduction before tackling Anvil of the Collective and, later, Forged in Fire to experience the game’s most intense version.
In addition to the new mode, the studio has taken the opportunity to highlight that the original soundtrack is now available on Steam, accompanied by a new ambient video that reinforces the game’s sonic identity and oppressive atmosphere. An update designed to open Cronos: The New Dawn to more players without sacrificing its essence.
