Microsoft has confirmed that December 31st is the last day you’ll be able to manually set the date and time on an Xbox 360. After that, consoles without synchronized time may display an incorrect date if they remain disconnected from the internet.
What you need to do with your Xbox 360 before the year ends
If you usually use your Xbox 360 offline most of the time, it’s highly recommended to connect it to the internet at least once before December 31st. By doing so, the console will automatically synchronize the date and time with the servers, ensuring it’s correctly set permanently.
- This step is especially important to avoid issues with saved games, achievements, timed matches, or errors when running certain games. Simply turn on the console, connect it to Xbox Live for a few minutes, and let the system synchronize automatically.
Once you’ve done this, you can go back to using your Xbox 360 without an internet connection, knowing that the internal clock will remain correctly configured even after the deadline.
Just a reminder that December 31 of this year is the last day you can manually set your Xbox 360's clock to! If you keep your Xbox offline most of the time but need an up to date clock, make sure to sync your console online at least once before this date. #Xbox #Xbox360 pic.twitter.com/BmIPcbzatj
