The focus is currently on Resident Evil Requiem, especially after its appearance at The Game Awards 2025 and the confirmation of the return of Leon S. Kennedy. However, many fans of the series are already looking ahead and wondering what plans Capcom has for the next remakes in the series.
According to new information shared by the well-known insider Dusk Golem, the Japanese company already has its next moves defined once the Requiem cycle is complete. And, if these predictions come true, Capcom would bet on two highly requested chapters by the community.
The next Resident Evil remakes
According to Dusk Golem, the next major project would be Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, whose announcement could happen before the end of 2026, with a release planned for 2027. This remake would once again feature Claire Redfield as the central figure and would mark an important point for the series, as it would be the first remake developed with Capcom’s new internal engine, at least within the Resident Evil franchise.
After that project, Resident Evil Zero Remake would arrive, which, according to the same source, would be planned for 2028. It would be a complete reinterpretation of the episode starring Rebecca Chambers, one of the most peculiar titles in the classic series.
As is usual with this type of information, none of this has been officially confirmed by Capcom, so it’s best to treat it as what it is: a leak from an insider with a good track record, but not infallible. Still, the choice of Code: Veronica and Zero fits with the recurring requests from fans over the years.
In the meantime, Resident Evil Requiem will continue to be the center of attention, with a story that will combine the protagonism of Leon and Grace, and which will set the immediate course for the series before Capcom takes the next step.
