ARC Raiders is making history. Embark Studios has recently launched a survey to gather changes and adjustments desired by the community, and among all the responses to their post on X, one in particular stood out: Elon Musk has joined the conversation and asked for an internal reward system to mark those who betray other players.

The request doesn’t come out of the blue. Embark’s title has become one of the phenomena of the month, and its social dynamic (improvised alliances, unexpected betrayals, and encounters that change course in seconds) is part of the game’s essence. But that freedom has also generated frustration among part of the community, which has been asking for a way to identify those who play with bad faith.
A claim that coincides with what a large part of the community is asking for
What Musk proposes is similar to what we saw in the Dark Zone of The Division: a clear marker to identify those who attack players with whom they had formed a temporary alliance. In ARC Raiders, this happens constantly, because the game is designed to make each encounter unpredictable and no one can fully trust anyone.
Although there is no official tool, fans have already created external portals where it is possible to put symbolic rewards on users and content creators. The problem is that these systems work poorly and have enormous limitations, so they don’t serve as a real solution.
The idea of including a mechanism within the game itself (be it a temporary status, a visible warning, or a level of hostility) would allow players to anticipate risky situations and avoid too frequent deceptions. However, Embark would have to balance it carefully so as not to eliminate the tension that makes each game unique.
For now, the studio has only collected suggestions and has not announced any concrete decision. ARC Raiders continues to grow at an enormous pace, and with such media figures participating in the debate, it’s clear that the topic won’t take long to return to the development team’s table.
