The subscription service has had a rollercoaster year, with price hikes that have changed the perception of many players and forced a reevaluation of its position within the Xbox catalog. Nevertheless, from within the company, they convey a clear message: support from studios not only remains, but continues to grow, even in a time of intense public debate about the model.
During the DevGAMM event, Chris Charla made it clear that the relationship with creators remains solid. According to him, teams that have already participated in the program return with new projects, demonstrating that collaboration is still working well.
Charla claims that studios’ interest in Game Pass has not wavered
Charla asserts that developers continue to show the same confidence in Game Pass, with many returning for a second, third, or even seventh project within the service. For him, this is a direct sign that the program continues to offer a good environment for those seeking visibility and stability in their releases.
He also sought to clarify how the arrival of titles of different sizes affects the ecosystem, such as the recent case of Keeper. According to Charla, variety does not harm small studios; on the contrary, he believes that more prominent games attract more users and help the rest of the catalog benefit.
Regarding what’s to come, he avoided giving details, but left an optimistic message: the next six to nine months of the ID@Xbox program bring a particularly strong selection, with projects on the way that, according to him, will arrive with a very high level.
A message that suggests Xbox will continue to bet on a broad and attractive catalog, even in a time of significant changes for Game Pass, like those of the past few months.
