The team behind the project has started to reveal how their dark fantasy proposal will evolve in the next installment of Lords Of The Fallen, and they’re making it clear that this time the world will be bigger, more varied, and with a greater artistic intention. The studio has shared new details in their latest official podcast, where they explain how the world’s structure has changed a thousand years after the events of the first game.
The team’s goal is for the player’s journey to feel more alive, more expansive, and with a more careful artistic direction. And the most striking thing is how they’re approaching the contrast between the two dimensions we’ll explore, a central idea in the project’s identity, but which now evolves into something more ambitious and defined.
Lords of the Fallen 2 on Xbox Series: new parallel worlds and expanded regions
CI Games explains that the map grows far beyond what we’ve seen before. There will be at least four completely new regions, each with its own style, distinct dangers, and different ways to approach them. The contrast between areas will be one of the pillars of this installment.
The developers have shown several conceptual sketches where you can see how the main dimension presents a greater visual richness, while the dark counterpart will incorporate its own biomes, designed textures to differentiate it completely, and specific architectural elements of the Realm of the Dead. Everything is designed to make the change between realities feel immediate, both visually and in terms of gameplay.
Despite the somber tone of the universe, the team insists that there will be moments of visual respite, with light filtering through structures, unexpectedly green areas, and small fragments of beauty that will accompany the player in the midst of a broken world. A decision made to reinforce the sense of progress and give more meaning to the journey.
