This weekend, we shared with you the requirements to update Red Dead Redemption in December with the new free patch for Xbox Series. First, we explained that the upgrade can only be done if you have the digital version of the game, you won’t be able to do it with the physical Xbox 360 game.
This is because Xbox One never had a native version of the game, it only had an update to improve the game on the new console, but it was never re-released. That’s why, to update the game from Xbox 360 to Xbox Series, we’ll need the game in digital format.
Price of Red Dead Redemption on Xbox 360 in 2025
Unless you’re like me and you’ll buy it at some point before with some retro-compatible game weekly offer, the current price of the digital version of the game seems excessive to me. You can buy it on the Store, but you’ll have to pay 30 euros for it, a high price for a game that’s 15 years old.
- Red Dead Redemption — 30 euros on the Xbox Store
- GTA + for Xbox Series – 7.99 €/month (includes Red Dead Redemption)
The other option is to have GTA +, this way, the game is included in the subscription, so this can be a good alternative to get the game without having to pay the 30 euros they’re asking for Red Dead Redemption right now.
If you look at the prices, it’s more worth it to subscribe for a couple of months and play the new version of the game starting in December. Another option might be to wait for the Black Friday sales on the Xbox Store to see if the game’s price drops to a more affordable price.
