We still have a few months ahead of us before we can get our hands on Resident Evil Requiem, the new installment in the series that will make its debut on Xbox in early 2026. At Generación Xbox, we were able to play it a few months ago thanks to Capcom, and the truth is, there’s no need for the Japanese company to promise that there will be plenty of terror – I can assure you myself, firsthand, that it’s there.

Additionally, Capcom claims that Requiem will arrive with careful optimization and a more efficient use of its own graphics engine, a combination that should guarantee a good experience from day one. The team insists that the game’s structure has been designed to take advantage of the RE Engine without compromising the pace or atmosphere.

Resident Evil Requiem: plenty of terror and well-optimized

The developers have also delved into the tone of the adventure and have made it clear that fear will be at the core of the game. Unlike previous installments where action alleviated some of the tension, here they’re betting on a constant feeling of vulnerability that will accompany the player from start to finish. There will be intense sequences and direct confrontations, but they will serve as a contrast to reinforce each scare and make the calm moments unsettling.

Capcom wants to convince all its followers that this installment recovers the darkest essence of the series, combining more solid technology with an atmosphere designed to keep the player on guard at all times.
