Microsoft has released a new update for Windows 11 as part of the November patch cycle, and this time it includes specific improvements for gaming-oriented portable devices, such as the ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, or MSI Claw.
According to the official notes, after applying the update, the on-screen keyboard will also be automatically hidden after completing the PIN or password, thus optimizing the input flow in portable mode.
Important Update for ROG Ally and Other Windows 11 Portable Users
The patch addresses two critical issues that were directly affecting performance and user experience on these types of devices:
- The first corrected a problem where devices could not stay in low-power states, resulting in faster battery drain even when idle.
- The second, an issue where the built-in gamepad took several seconds to respond after logging in, especially when coming back from suspension or entering a password.
These adjustments reinforce Microsoft’s commitment to supporting Windows 11 portable devices, a category that continues to grow with models like the ASUS ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go, and the Ayaneo KUN. If you haven’t installed the update yet, you can do so from Settings > Windows Update to enjoy better autonomy and a more immediate response from the built-in controller.
