Fans of Terminator will have to wait a bit longer to face off against the machines again. The promising Terminator 2D: No Fate, developed by Bitmap Bureau and published by Reef Entertainment, has once again delayed its release date, which is now set for December 12, 2025.
The title, which features a pixel art aesthetic and classic side-scrolling action, was initially slated for September, then moved to October, and finally to December. According to a statement from the studio on Steam, the reason for the new delay is due to logistical issues and synchronization problems between the different physical versions of the game.
The new Terminator game aims high despite the delay
Since its announcement, Terminator 2D: No Fate has sparked curiosity among fans of the franchise with its blend of retro style, intense combat, and faithful cinematic universe atmosphere. Bitmap Bureau, known for titles like Xeno Crisis, aims to deliver a direct and challenging experience that combines fast-paced action, classic design, and a nostalgic touch.
The studio confirms that all physical components of the collector’s editions are already ready, which will allow them to meet the new release date in December. Thus, Terminator 2D: No Fate will finally arrive on PC and consoles, just in time to close out the year with a dose of action and nostalgia.
