Microsoft, if there’s one thing they do well, it’s that they eventually launch surveys for members of the Insider program to gather real opinions from users and gamers, and to distance themselves from the noise on social media. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of the real landscape and use that data to make informed decisions. Surveys are a powerful tool for improving a product.
However, keep in mind that a survey is just that – a question with a specific goal in mind. The fact that they’re conducting surveys doesn’t guarantee that certain games will come to the platform or that additional dashboard features will become a reality. Nevertheless, surveys do help determine whether something is viable or not. For example, Microsoft asked its users about the capabilities of the DualSense, and on the other hand, Sony asked its users if they’d like to use Remote Play on other platforms.
Xbox wants to know if you like games of this style
The latest survey is causing a stir online because it’s a very specific question about a recent game from PlayStation Studios, Ghost of Yotei. The folks at Redmond want to know if you enjoy this type of game and your thoughts on having played it (note the emphasis on having played it).
We’re looking to understand how you feel about a recently released game that you may have played. If you’ve played Ghost of Yotei since its release, please take a minute to complete a brief survey about your experience.

I’ll reiterate, this might not lead to anything, but at the very least, it shows a genuine interest from Xbox to improve their games or, at the very least, listen to the preferred genres of their active user base.
